TOPP got charmed by Jared Padalecki from Supernatural.Prince Charming!He dream about a family life in Texas, and hate life in the spotlight. Handsome Jared Padalecki have acted against the Olsen twins and Paris Hilton, but private he prefers to hang out with down-to-earth girls..
"I have never been into the celebrity status. It's not very comfortable to be famous" Jared admits to topp.
Jared started acting when he was 12, and since then he have been in movies like 'New York Minute' where he acted against Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, the tv-show 'Supernatural' and now the movie, 'Friday the 13th'. We meet the handsome actor at Browns Hotel in London.
He's 6'3 over the ground, and is indescribable good looking in real life. Actually more goodlooking then how we have seen him on the screen. Jared is tanned, fit and is wearing a beanie. His dimples makes appearance right as he steps in the room. Jared is in a great spirit, even though the weather in London is not the best.
Sympathetic and single"Nice to meet you" Jared says before he sit down. The charming actor grew up in San Antonio, Texas, but moved to Los Angeles nine years ago to pursue a acting career.
Until last year, Jared was engaged with his girlfriend of four years, Sandra McCoy. If everything had gone after the plan, Jared would have been a married man by now, but that didn't work out. The engagement got cancelled early summer, last year, and now is the sexy actor single again. The girlfriend have moved out, but that have on no way done Jared to an desperate bachelor. The Texas native have never been interested in superficial celebrity parties, and prefers pizza and guitar hero.
- "I'm more interested to spend my time with my friends. I have never been the one that goes to hip hollywood clubs. I don't like to go out with a big group of people I don't even know" Jared says.
Jared is more comfortable in jeans and t-shirt, than on the red carpet, and have never dreamed on being first-page news in the tabloids.
- "I want to live a life as a successful actor, and if that makes me famous, thats good. Its flattering to be on the cover of a magazine, but I don't want to be famous for being famous. Laguna Beach for example, what's that? On the airport there were paparazzi around Lauren Conrad. I asked them, what's her name and why she was famous, and they said her dad was rich."
- "Why would people look up to people like that?"
Have you had any bad experiences with being famous?- "Luckily not. It's very flattering when fans comes over to me, but I don't like it when people only comes over because they have seen me somewhere, without knowing where. Or worse, if somebody wants to take a picture with me just because I'm famous. I sort of felt mean when I was at a restaurant the other day. A employer that worked there asked me; Are you famous? I said no. He asked again; Are you an actor? I said no to that question too" says Jared(laugh).
Ashley and Mary-KateThrough his long career, he have been working close with stars that lives a more famous life than Jared himself.
- "I don't know if Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen is famous in Norway, but when I filmed 'New York Minute' with them, they weren't when 18. People went around the streets and screamed; show us your boobs, and came with dumb comments.
How was is to work with Paris Hilton in 'House of Wax'.?- "She actually worked really hard. She came on set on time and did her job", Jared tells somewhat ironic. "Paris is a nice girl, but I would never live a life as she does, or the Olsen twins. Many is jealous on their fame status - while I feel sorry for them. Its not comfortable to be that famous. Starring people, and paparazzi who takes pictures even if you're out buying shoes. However, I am impressed over stars like Johnny Depp. He's still one of the most famous actors today, but lives a low-key life in France. Mel Gibson lives on a ranch in Montana. You don't have to do like the wife of David Beckham, and show up on all of the premieres you get invited to".
What's the secret to keep a low-key life?- "I have stopped going to malls and the movies on Saturdays. I know where I can go, and when I can go out."
Does that mean that you live a normal life?- "Yes, and I'm a very happy person."
Do you dream about family and children?- "Yes, absolutely. I'm still young, but where I come from its all about having a family, I'm from Texas you know. I want a wife and children, but I'm not rushing. I don't want a child yet, I have still many things I want to do, before I put out another life into the world.
Always travel with the dogs.The most important in the life for Jared, is his two dogs. They have been regulars on the 'Supernatural'-set in Vancouver, Canada.
- "Even though its quicker to fly, I always drive to Vancouver. I have a truck, and have my dogs with me. I don't want to go away from them, and even though I can have them with me on a plane, I don't do that. I have a friend that is a pilot, and according to him you should have a dog that is small so you can bring him to the cabin. Thousands of dogs dies yearly in the stowage(?). I don't take that risk" Jared tells.
Jared loves Vancouver. The nature, the people and his colleagues.
It's seems like you and Jensen Ackles is good friends of screen too?- "Jensen and I are very good friends. He's very similar to me - it's sounds a bit cheesy, but it's fun to meet someone you get along with so well. You work with so many who you never get to know much, but Jensen is a laid back guy. We're raised in the same state, liked the same artists when we where kids and like the same football team."
Had you ever met Jensen before you got the part in 'Supernatural'?- "No, never. We met on audition when I did 'Gilmore Girls', and he did 'Smallville'. We had to audition together, and when we got a callback, we just got a message: Congratulation, you guys have your own TV-show.
Your previous girlfriend got a part in the third season of 'Supernatural'. How was is to act against her?- "It was a fun scene, but when you know somebody that well, it get weird acting like you don't know each other. We met for the first time through work, under the shooting of 'Cry_Wolf', but that was different."
As the charater Sam Winchester in 'Supernatural', he has power that nobody else has. He didn't think any of these characters were for him.
- "Somebody sees these powers as a gift - other as a burden."
Do you believe in the supernatural?- "I'm no sceptic, but neither somebody thats superstitious. Its a big universe, and there is so much more out there that we don't know of.
